Laying in bed and watching your brain spin circles is frustrating.

You would give anything to pass out as soon as your head hits the pillow.

Why is it so hard to fall asleep, get good sleep, and not wake up with a foggy brain?

It is so easy to scavenge the medicine cabinet and tranquilize yourself to eight hours of deep sleep.

Unfortunately, you may be getting more (or less) than you bargained for.

A recent study found that many supplement companies are not meeting label claims.

Many also contain ingredients that aren't even mentioned on the label.

A research team analyzed 31 brands of melatonin to quantify the accuracy of label claims.

Here are some of the highlights:

  1. Melatonin content ranged from -83% to +478% of the label claim.
  2. Variable content within a single product varied up to 465%
  3. Melatonin content did not come within 10% of the label claim in 71% of the supplements tested.
  4. 26% of tested supplements contained serotonin with eight at levels ranging from 1 to 75ug.

This is why we use circadian rhythm testing at RAPID Health Optimization.

We are vocal on social media and podcasts on the absurd melatonin readings we see in our clients.

I cannot emphasize the importance of choosing your supplement brands enough.

Make sure your supplements are third party tested.

You get what you pay for.

And when you pay less, you might get something that's not even on the label.
